Fish Ballet

Below is another Apophysis fractal. When it appeared on my screen, was stunned to realise that the thing looked like a bunch of fish jumping out of a net.

The style reminded me of an oil painting. Why is it that my computer is more creative than I am ??

ANZAC Day - Mostly Fine

Walk on Water

Today was ANZAC day and the weather forecast said "Mostly Fine".

That was an adequate description of both the day today and the weather.

Spent most of today reading 'Walk on Water' and am finding it very very good.

Convinced my dad that it was a good idea to go for a walk at around 3.00pm. The plan was to hike down to the local library and take photos of the cenotaph there in honour of ANZAC day. Managed to get some pretty good photos (see below). At this point the weather was great. The sun was shining, the sky was blue and there was just a slight nip in the air.

Birkenhead Cenotaph

Dad and I stopped in to the shop on the way home and as we are going down the cheese aisle, dad's cell phone rang. It was my mom asking if we needed a lift home as it was raining!! We did not actually believe her and said we would call back if we needed a ride.

Walked out of the shop and not only was it pouring with rain, the wind had "come up" and it was FREEZING!! Needless to say, my mom came and picked us up as there was no way we were walking home in that freezing mess.

Got home and three minutes later it was fine again. Just like the weather guy said. Gotta love this Auckland weather.

Was pleased to see that Google noticed it was ANZAC day too. Thought a game of "Spot the Difference" might be in order here. So below are two versions of the Google Logo. You get to spot the difference.

Passover Offering

Soccer Dad recently asked me to create some Pesach related fractal art to contribute to his Pesach Post (aka: Haveil Havalim #18 - The Pesach Edition).

Below is some of my "hottest" work ever. Literally. Gotta love those flame fractals.

Passover Offering

If you look closely, you can see a bush in there. It is not being consumed. Trust me on this one.

Spiral Motion

Today is my first day of holiday and it has been great. Acquired two new jigsaw puzzles and am making good progress on the first one.

Below is one of my "older" Chaoscope efforts. It is called "Spiral Motion".

Spiral Motion

Stay tuned for Thursday's post in honour of Pesach which promises to be my "hottest" yet.

Puzzle Perfection

It is only Thursday but it feels like a Friday. This could be because tomorrow is the last day of term (yay).

I have a thing for jigsaw puzzles and wish I knew who to contact to get my own puzzle designs on the market. Below is something that I think would make a cool (but difficult) jigsaw.

Perfect Puzzle

Any takers?

White Flower Pot

I was inspired by Fractal Rock to give Apophysis another try.

Am glad that I did. The image below appeared on my screen as if by magic.

White Flower Pot

That makes it a perfect end to a perfect day. The weather has been fantastic with clear blue Autumn skies and warm sun. The only down side right now is that I have to get up before dawn to avoid the worst of Auckland's morning traffic. Gotta love this "City of Snails".

Flower Stone

Today has been very very good.

Lets just say I have several gmail accounts to give away, so if you want one, just ask.

And now, for your viewing pleasure ...

Flower Stone

The above was inspired by Marta, my good friend, who created the "Origami Box" below.

Pink is not Pretty

For someone who does not like pink, am not doing very well. Somehow over the course of the last few months have accumulated all this stuff that is pink.

At first it was just a folder cause it was bright and impossible to lose. Then it was a ball point pen for the same reason. After that things just snow balled out of control.

My Pink Stuff

I really don't like pink. Mercifully, this catastrophe has not spread as far as my wardrobe.

Aaaargghhh !

Its been one of those days. The less said the better.

Liquid Sprot

For some reason this thing won't publish. It keeps saying that I cannot leave a required field blank. Only I don't have any blank required fields. If this is an April fools joke, its not funny!

Tried to publish the above on Friday 1st April, it would not cooperate. It had to wait until Shabbat was over. Tis one of the joys of being Jewish. If you don't get it done before Shabbat comes in, it waits until Shabbat goes out.
