Today's Gratitude Item: Being short. Its nice not to have to worry to duck for "low" archways. The story behind this one is funny in a "you had to be there" kind of way.

Today's Gratitude Item: Getting more work. My data entry "stint" has been extended. I finished up with my dad's stuff and now one of his colleagues has more stuff that needs to get done. So I still get to go to work with dad and I still get paid.

Today's Gratitude Item: The end of a lovely long weekend. In fact, having a long weekend was so much fun, I think we will repeat the experience next weekend (Next Tuesday is a public holiday, and "we" are taking Monday off as well).

Today's Gratitude Item: Air conditioning! Today has been really really hot (and humid). The plan for tomorrow is to get up earlier than today so that our early morning walk is more pleasant.

Today's Gratitude Item: Fixed (ie: faster) internet. We switched providers earlier in the week and they made a small mistake which meant we got dial up speed whilst being on a broad band plan! Dialup is s*l*o*w. It got fixed today so we are back up to speed again :)
After trying really hard to generate something for Christmas, this finally appeared - about two weeks too late! It will have to keep for next year. I don't "do" Christmas, but the buyers at Shutterstock do and its very worthwhile to create Christmas stuff to meet the demand.

Today's Gratitude Item: Not having coffee flavoured gelato at lunch time. If it costs more than $2.50 for a single scoop, its not fun anymore. Which is why, even though my dad would have happily paid for ice cream for both of us, "we" decided we would pass! Ice cream, must, above all, be fun.

Today's Gratitude Item: Good *dental* health. As in my annual visit to the dentist went very smoothly (insert sigh of relief here).

Today's Gratitude Item: The best bread that I have ever tasted. My mom made it using her new bread maker and it was amazing. Light, fluffy and brilliant. It was plaited herb bread topped with par meson cheese. Total heaven.

Today's Gratitude Item: A 50c ice cream from McDonald's, eaten at lunchtime in the company of my dad (we went to work together today - it was fun).

This time, I tried to get the thing to follow the rule of thirds. Also, in Tierazon, the colours were too bright so the entire picture got another semi opaque (white) layer on top of it which solved the problem nicely.

Today's Gratitude Item: Getting some data entry work to do next week. Its casual stuff for my dad's office which means that I get to go work with him! Kind of like the adult version of "bring your kid to work day". I get paid and its probably more interesting than staying home and doing laundry. Not that I'm complaining. Holidays are good. School starts back in a month and am enjoying them whilst they last.
Created in Tierazon, using the classic Mandelbrot Set formula. The graphic was then "tweaked" / zoomed and recoloured. A lot. The only post work is in the frame and signature.

Today's Gratitude Item: Getting a new fridge. The old one was making some rather worrying noises and we were becoming concerned. Getting the new fridge into place and removing the old fridge was something of an adventure but it worked out well and nothing got damaged.

Today's Gratitude Item: That instead of charging $1.00 for reserves, my local library is letting us have them for free until the end of the month. They did a similar thing last year in a bid to attract more people to the library and I am glad that they are repeating this rather special offer.

Today's Gratitude Item: That most of the software that I use is freely available off the Internet. This means that getting a new computer and putting updated software on it was a very straight forward task.

Today's Gratitude Item: Literally waking up and realising that I can draw! To be more precise, have needed a picture of a frog that will tessellate and managed to draw one after waking up from a nap. This is a minor miracle as my artistic skills are usually limited to those of a digital nature.
Getting this image was nothing short of blind luck! Its a good one for Valentine's day though. Of course, Valentines day is rather annoying so its getting posted today. As usual, if you can't make out the heart in the image, try using your imagination and squinting.

Turns out that "Catena" is a chain or connected series. Found it out by looking up synonyms for "chain". You learn something new everyday.

Today's Gratitude Item: My new computer arrived today!! It is a truly wonderful thing. Everything is "up and running" except for my printer / scanner which I could not connect because I need a USB adapter / cable to connect them up. The new machine has loads more internal memory than the old one which is really important when one is rendering large graphics. Best thing about this experience is the speed with which the new computer arrived. Was only expecting it some time next week yet it arrived first thing this morning.
Reminded me of ripples on moonlit night. Not that I have ever seen ripples that look quite like this.

Today's Gratitude Item: Getting my graphic for purim finished. The actual festival is still two months away but getting the graphic done took a lot of time and effort. It was worth it though. Of course you will have to wait until the start of March to see the fruits of my labour :)
Was in the mood to experiment! Being somewhat tired of my "normal" blue woven graphics, took the latest one and made a negative image from it. Am not sure if I like the result, but at least its different.

Today's Gratitude Item: Paint Tubes in Paint Shop Pro. Basically these are a cool tool that make things like drawing a gold chain / piece of rope really easy. When I showed my mom how the "rope" tube worked, she was amazed. Her actual words were "show this to your father".

Today's Gratitude Item: That my dad's foot is better. He damaged it by wearing shoes past their "use by" date and managed to get a rather nasty looking blister on his heel which stopped him from walking with me yesterday. Happily it was better this morning! Lets just say that walking on one's own is not as much fun as walking with a companion.

Today's Gratitude Item: Getting a new desktop computer. At least, ordering a new desktop that will be shipped within 8 - 10 working days. My brother was invaluable in advising me on getting the best deal for my needs and Dell allowed me to customise / order a machine. They were super helpful and their service was outstanding! Best advice is to phone them and order over the phone if you can't get exactly what you need through their online customisation process. Way to go Dell! You guys "rock".

Today's Gratitude Item: That someone out there likes my work enough to put it on the front cover of a book they have written! Apparently, this graphic was exactly what the author was looking for. What a buzz.
This one is particularly appropriate for winter, which of course means that it was created in midsummer. That always happens! I guess my computer thinks it is in America. It keeps trying to use American spelling as well which is very annoying.
