The candle in the middle of this one was a nice surprise.

Today's Gratitude Item: No major issues with the new computers at school. My students were able to pick up where they left off last term which was great.

This could be the fractal equivalent of writer's block.

Today's Gratitude Item: Google Classroom finally fixed their *not so new* grading tool so that it is possible to filter assignments by 'status' rather than having to hunt for work that has been submitted in that particular view. Needless to say Classroom has always been miles ahead of MS Teams when it comes to setting assignments, seeing what work needs to be graded and retrieving grades for analysis.

Today's Gratitude Item: Garlic bread! After a *long* week of matzos being able to eat bread again is simply the best.

Is it a cog, a rose or a weird mix of the two? You decide.

Today's Gratitude Item: Getting my dad successfully set up on Skype. It was harder than anticipated because whilst I could hear him, he could not hear me. Finally managed to solve the issue by messing with his computer's sound settings in a non-obvious way.

As the title suggests, am not too sure if this one was a good idea.

Today's Gratitude Item: Finally getting some video tutorials 'sorted'. Happily things did not take as long as feared although I still have a fair bit to do before Monday.

This one was both unexpected and quite interesting.

Today's Gratitude Item: A super restful day. Decided not to do any computer work today and really enjoyed the time off :)

Sometimes apophysis does weird woven things. This was one of those times.

Today's Gratitude Item: Connecting with a colleague over coffee. Being able to 'talk shop' with another teacher who 'gets' what life is like teaching Digital Technologies in a typical New Zealand school was lovely.

Today's Gratitude Item: Finally getting my Shavuot image for 5779 done. Said image will feature on this blog in due course.

Today's Gratitude Item: Figuring out how 'rows' work when using grid css. It took a while but was worth the effort.

When something like this appears, it just has to be rendered.

Today's Gratitude Item: Having another week of holiday stretching out before me.

Ironically, creating this one took more than one attempt.

Today's Gratitude Item: Finally getting a proposal written and out of the way. As is so often the case, it took longer than anticipated.

The cartoon below is currently outside one of our local coffee shops. Whilst I had to explain to my dad that the rabbit was holding a selfie stick with a cellphone on the end, this is exactly my sense of humour. The 'normal' fractal will be back tomorrow.

This one was not supposed to be quite so grey / ominous.

Today's Gratitude Item: Finding $1.00 right near where I parked my car before dance class tonight. It was in a totally unexpected place and the lucky find certainly added a spring to my step.

This one reminded me that circular stairs are pretty but painful to climb.

Today's Gratitude Item: Fresh hot raisin bread with butter. It does not get better than that :)

Today's Gratitude Item: Finally finding out how to use Github in conjunction with Pycharm to manage program development. I was surprised by how easy it was :)

It's almost gift wrapped but not quite.

Today's Gratitude Item: Getting through a fair bit of marking. Did not quite get all of it done but the end is in sight. Once the marking is done, the plan is to move onto preparing for next term...

As in the 'hole' in this one reminded me of the shape of a candle flame - only it's black.

Today's Gratitude Item: Being at the start of a two week holiday. Of course I use the word 'holiday' in it's loosest possible sense as I have tonnes of school work to get through. Happily getting up before sunrise is off the table for the next little while.

This one looks better in a smaller size - it's odd when that happens.

Today's Gratitude Item: Getting new keyboards and mice in the lab (as well as completely new machines). The new peripherals were a lovely, exciting surprise as some of our keyboards were a bit 'sticky' / rather old (and by old I mean ancient).

Today's Gratitude Item: Our new computers arrived today. I'm looking forward to the start of next term where we will have all new devices in the lab. Very exciting :)

Today's Gratitude Item: One more *teaching* day before we get an all too brief two week break. We have a different program on the last day of school so if I can just get through tomorrow, everything will be OK. Hopefully.

As in the pattern sort of reminded me of fingerprints - it's been that kind of day.

Today's Gratitude Item: One of my classes has been cancelled as the students have something else on. This will hopefully give me a bit more time to get stuff done (this week has been insanely busy and there is far too much happening).

I discovered that playing with the 'curve' values can improve just about any gradient.

Today's Gratitude Item: Not having to get up in the dark. Driving to school with the sun mostly up was a weird feeling after a solid month of leaving home while it is still dark. The only problem is that it is downhill from now on as winter approaches.

Today's Gratitude Item: One more week of school and then we are on holiday. It's been a very long term!

This one was interesting enough to be worth rendering.

Today's Gratitude Item: The end of daylight saving. Whilst I have loved having longer evenings and time to walk outside after school, getting up (and getting to school) in the dark was not all that much fun.

This one reminded me of very fancy wings - hence the name.

Today's Gratitude Item: That parent / student / teacher at meetings at school went really well. All the interactions that I had with families were positive and it was great to be able to put faces to names. The only downside is that only half of the families showed up for their interviews. It is a great pity that the other half are not more involved with their child's education (insert deep sigh here).

This is one of those things that seemed like a bright idea at the time.

Today's Gratitude Item: Not having to stay overly late at school for parent / teacher meetings. My final two appointments told me in advance that they would not be attending. When the appointments are a 20 minute catch-up where we look at all the student's subjects and progress overall, the time adds up. Obviously it would be better to meet with parents but at least if they can't make it, some of them let us know...

Today's Gratitude Item: Getting some fairly hefty marking done. I was relieved that one of my hardest-working students managed to pass. This is one of those times when the final grade does not adequately reflect the effort that went into the task. Happily as teachers we can (and do) write extra feedback that acknowledges those super important things like grit and perseverance.

Was really please with this one - I've always had a 'thing' for geometric shapes.

Today's Gratitude Item: A free 'flu jab which did not hurt too much. Here's hoping it does it's job and helps me avoid being unwell this winter.
