Wednesday Writings

Yesterday was Wednesday and I spent it with a group of Deaf students (as usual). In their language unit, they were working on Acrostic poems. Sadly they did not "get" the fact that the sentences they wrote actually had to be related to the word the acrostic was based on. In frustration, the following made it up onto the board. It got translated into New Zealand Sign Language as well.

On Wednesday nights I have Israeli dance class. You need this bit of information to make sense of the poem below.

Wish it was over
Endless frustration
Dreaming students
Not paying attention
Enough already!
Should almost be time to
Dance the night
Yet another week half gone.

The above took less than three minutes to compose.

Flower Power

Time for a new fractal. When I have something to write about, will quit wasting my time creating new fractals. Until then enjoy ...

The original version is bigger and looks better. Compressing these things does dull them somewhat. Never mind.

Good Fractals are Hard to Find

Have absolutely nothing to write about. Thought I would post a fractal instead. It is called "Infinity Circle" (if you look real hard, you can see the infinity symbol inside the circle). Thought it was quite pretty.

Why Blog ?

A couple of days ago, my brother called me on the phone and asked me why I blogged. Instead of explaining it to him, decided to blog my response.

  • I am lonely
  • It beats being bored
  • When stuff irritates me, I know that I can at least blog about it and get it off my chest
  • Everyone else seems to be doing it
  • It seemed like a good idea at the time
  • Its free
  • Its easy

One of the most attractive things about having a blog is that totally random people can read (and comment) on it. It is like the modern day equivalent of a message in a bottle thrown out to sea. Something oddly sad / romantic in there. It reminds me that I am not all alone out here.
