Sky Tower

Sooner or later when one messes with fractals, architecture appears.

Sky Tower

Today's Gratitude Item: Progress on the job front. Let's just say that things went from 'very quiet' to 'insane' - but in a *mostly* good way.

Road to Winter

I get cold just looking at this one.

Road to Winter

Today's Gratitude Item: Being in the same classroom all day. It was nice not to have to move from one end of the school to another each period.

Ripple Hub

As in the result of crossing ripples with hub caps.

Ripple Hub

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: Being booked for the rest of this week and all of next week. Having this much relief work in advance is nice and a bit surreal.

Copper Frame

A 'simple' image which took a very long time to get 'just right'.

Copper Frame

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: Being kept busy! The relief work is coming 'thick and fast' which means some full-on days. The variety of relief work does help keep things interesting.

Pop Out Diamond

This one was fairly ordinary until I messed around with the colours of the various layers.

Pop Out Diamond

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: A new map book for my car. When it comes to navigation, I'm still 'old school'.

Crazy Geometrix

As is so often the case, we have been here before.

Crazy Geometrix

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: A wool winder and plastic sandwich bags. Both these items were really useful for keeping small bits of wool separate for my first attempt at a Twiddle Muff. Progress is best described as 'slow but steady'.

Squared Away (Version 2)

For some reason every time 'patchwork' appears on my monitor, I cannot resist the urge to render it.

Squared Away (Version 2)

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: Finding parking at school. When one is day relieving, finding a parking space can sometimes be tricky. Happily this was not the case today.

Patchy Paper

This one reminded me of strips of paper arranged in a geometric shape.

Patchy Paper

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: An early morning wake-up call! Sometimes work comes through early in the morning rather than the night before - at these times leaping out of bed and rushing around like a crazy person becomes necessary. It's not a problem as 'work is work' and I'm grateful to be called in :)

Getting A Cross

Or is that 'getting across'?

Getting A Cross

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: Being invited to an interview for a Mathematics Teaching position at one of my local schools. I'm not sure how things will pan out but getting an interview is a good first step.

Flower Fragments

It's a flower but it appears to be a bit broken...

Flower Fragments

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: Being given a key for the day at the school where I was relieving. This made a refreshing change from having to rely on colleagues to gain access to classrooms.

Falling Through

As in this the sphere is falling through the woven wall.

Falling Through

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: Getting called in to one of my *very* local schools for tomorrow. I'm enjoying the Day Relieving as it's easy and stress free. Not having to leave early to beat Auckland's traffic is an added bonus.

Two Very Small Jumpers

This post is a very brief break from the usual. It features the jumpers mentioned in yesterday's gratitude item (clicking on them should let you access a larger version). My dad took the photos in challenging lighting conditions :)

Today's Gratitude Item: Finding $1.70 on my morning walk and getting relief work for tomorrow.

Doubled Checkered...

Today's Gratitude Item: A brilliant day relieving at my old school! My colleagues were pleased to see me and it was great to catch up with everyone. Today was fun, a little weird and completely stress free.

Warm Swatches

For some reason I can't seem to stop myself from rendering diamond / square designs.

Warm Swatches

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: A new backpack / computer bag! When I left my last school, I had to return the computer bag which came with the school issued laptop. Now that I'm back to day relieving, getting a new bag was necessary.

Unexpected Sunshine

This one involved pushing things a bit and the result was rather unexpected.

Unexpected Sunshine

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: This blog is officially 14 years old. I had a great blogiversary despite the absence of cake to mark the occasion.

Two Roads at Dusk

Question is, which of the roads in question is less traveled?

Two Roads at Dusk

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: 'Tiger Tail' wire. This is basically wire used in making jewelry and it is also perfect for making stitch markers (used to help keep one's place when knitting).

Out of the Box

These looked like they were bursting out a box at the bottom left of the image.

Out of the Box

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: Finding free parking. I had a meeting near the city today and parking was a challenge. Finally found a lovely little car park with 90 minutes free parking a short walk from where I needed to be. Needless to say, allowing a ridiculous amount of time to get to said meeting and find parking was a wise move.

Chunky Dawn

On a fractal planet, this is what daybreak looks like.

Chunky Dawn

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: Shutterstock's updated contributor interface which is very easy to use. They have clearly acted on user feedback and put some 'simple' things in place to help contributors avoid making some common errors.

Glass Water

This was one of 'those' times when everything just worked.

Glass Water

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: Not being able to decide what to play with first! For the first time in ages, I'm having stress-free fun. Whilst I am hoping this phase will be relatively short and something great will happen on the work front, I'm definitely enjoying the positive side of being jobless.

Feather Eye

Am not too sure about this one. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Feather Eye

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: Being warm and indoors on our first day of wintry weather. Happily said weather did not kick in until after my morning walk.

Modern Socks

Having socks made from this fabric would be really fun.

Modern Socks

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: That the baby bonnet I knitted today worked on the first attempt. The words 'quick and easy' spring to mind. Needless to say, having time to sit and knit is a novel experience.

Tennis Mesh

This one took quite a bit of post processing which was an unwelcome surprise.

Tennis Mesh

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: My post-dance snack. Was famished after class this evening and getting to sit down at home with matzos, cheese and a good book was heavenly.

Stair Fall

I have a 'thing' for checkered, ripple designs and it has struck again.

Stair Fall

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: Muscle memory and some expert assistance when picking up knitting again. It's been decades since I last had time to knit and revisiting this craft has proved to be immensely satisfying.

Spun Hessian

This one is a variation on a theme which was pretty enough to render.

Spun Hessian

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: The most pleasant Monday in quite some time. I'd forgotten what a relatively stress-free existence feels like.

Plant Reflection

Am not too sure about this one. It reminded me of water lilies (sort of).

Plant Reflection

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: Finding $2.20 on this morning's walk. Somehow picking up other people's dropped small change never gets old.

Patch Play

Here is another example of dark colours working better than expected.

Patch Play

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: A perfect day. Not stressing about school, students, marking or assessments is a welcome change. Readjusting to being in 'search' mode (rather than 'work' mode) is proving to be interesting.

Hessian Warmth

Ideal for a cold winter's night.

Hessian Warmth

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: My last day at my current job! I'm looking forward to finding something which is a better 'fit'...

Carpet Curve

Sometimes dark colours can work well. If this carpet were real, it would be a good choice as it would not show the stains.

Carpet Curve

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: That the change alluded to in yesterday's gratitude item came around surprisingly quickly. Weirdly, I am grateful that tomorrow is my last day in my current school. Not having to serve out the 'normal' 8 week notice period is actually a good thing in this case. Now the search for a role which is more suitable begins...

Grunge Spot

For some reason this one really appeals to me...

Grunge Spot

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: There is a light at the end of the tunnel - hopefully it is not an oncoming train. There is a long, boring story behind this one involving work, the short version is that switching jobs has not turned out as hoped so more change is on the cards.

Facet Flower

The blue was a lot brighter than expected. The small version does not really do this one justice.

Facet Flower

The wallpaper version is available at the preceding link.

Today's Gratitude Item: The support of my family. I know I've had this particular item before but things have been 'difficult' lately and having people clearly in one's corner makes a huge difference.
